The College of Internal Security and Criminology

The College of Internal Security and Criminology at WSPiA University of Rzeszów offers you first and second degree studies in the field of Internal Security and first degree studies in the field of Criminology.

Security is a value whose importance is consistently increasing in the modern world. Experts in widely understood security are extremely sought after in various industries, not only in the uniformed services, but also in the commercial sector, e.g. in the protection of persons and property, detective agencies, non-governmental organisations and large international corporations. WSPiA, working with specialists in various areas of security, constantly adapts the curriculum to new emerging threat trends. This is reflected in proposals for new products and specialties of studies. In this way, the educational offer in the field of Internal Security meets the contemporary needs of the labour market.

In recent years, we have expanded classes in cyber security, forensics, economic security or computer forensics, among others. We have also expanded the offer of second degree studies to include an interdisciplinary approach, which also shows aspects related to the trans-sectoral phenomenon of contemporary security. We offer classes in, among other things, the methodology of security sciences.

As part of the curriculum, you will be comprehensively prepared to, among other things, identify and analyse a variety of security threats, secure forensic evidence at the scene of an incident, and prepare plans for an emergency situation. You will learn the ins and outs of the work of officers from various services and other security actors. As an Internal Security student, you will have the opportunity to obtain specialist qualifications (certified) at no extra cost. There are also scientific circles at WSPiA, such as Border Security, Internal Security, Criminalistics and Criminology, International Law and Human Rights, and the Shooting Circle.

The "Collegium Securitatis" building has been made available to our students. It houses, among others, a professional forensic laboratory, an electronic shooting range, computer laboratories, including a Cyber Crime laboratory. We have extensive sports facilities: a full-size sports hall, a gym, equipment for martial arts training and an obstacle course (adapted to fitness exams in the uniformed services).

Studying for a degree in internal security means:

1. Classes with practitioners from the industry: with active and former officers of services such as the Police, Border Guard, Customs and Fiscal Service, Prison Service, State Fire Service, ABW, CBA; with officials of government institutions (e.g. the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, Government Security Centre, NIK, Ministry of Justice, Road Transport Inspection) with employees of the persons and property security sector and other private corporations in the field of security issues (e.g. mass events).
